Merry Christmas!!

Hello to all of you (or ANY of you - depending on how many read this),

It is Thursday and we are busy trying to get ready for Christmas. It's hard to believe that it's already upon us.

Marvin has been struggling to get through a few major work projects for the year. Failover testing for Sauer-Danfoss' production SAP system and refreshing a test system from the production SAP system. As well as supporting a very large SAP implementation project kicking off in North America, but based in Ames. All while supporting the existing global implementations. Good times. However, Marvin still has a "floater holiday" left, so Friday 12/23 is a day off and the whole company is shut down from Christmas to New Year's. No work until 1/2/2006. Really good times. :)

Deborah has been even busier. She just got back from a whirlwind business trip to Scottsdale, AZ. She was there for a regional meeting for Marriott for a couple of days and was booked morning to night. She was able to squeeze in a brief visit with her mom. Upon return, she immediately fell ill with Strep Throat. She is on antibiotics now and almost over it, but she has a new malady. While trying to maneuver a fake Christmas tree she accidently poked herself in the face and has quite a shiner. However, she is busy making fantastic caramels, fudge, and almond roca. The people that Marvin works with LOVE the holiday baking from Marvin's house.

The kids are still loving the snow and play outside every chance they get with all of the other crazy neighborhood kids. This picture is Gavin & Everett playing with neighbor Luke (as in "Luke, I am your father....").

Deborah and Marvin are loving the snow and cold a little less than the kids, but it's not nearly as bad as all of our neighbors make it out to be. Yes, we have had to learn to check the weather every morning to see what the temperature is and how many layers we have to put on the kids. We have also learned the importance of such weather related terms as "feels like". The other morning before we sent Madeline and Gavin out to wait for the bus it was -1 (yes, that's minus 1...in Farenheit), but the "feels like" was -15. When it's this cold, you can actually feel the condensation on your nose hairs freeze. That's when you know it's actually cold outside.

Camilla and Everett are much more content to chase each other like banshees through the house. Although, most of the time they are wonderful playmates for each other.

We are still working on getting Christmas cards out, but obviously, now they will be Happy New Years cards!!

We love all of you, our friends and family, and hope that you all have a wonderful, Merry Christmas!!

Love,

The Smiths

We really do miss seeing the Smiths. I purposefully cut off all my travel to Folsom because there is simply no good reason now to go and visit.

We'll have a Christmas card and a picture for you coming via USPS, late as usual!
Good to see that Marvin's keeping you in line! I give Jenn a quick backhand every once in awhile, just to let her know who's in charge. ;-)
