Last week the 4th, 5th and 6th graders held Track and Field Day. Our little school had a great parent turn out in spite of the warm and muggy weather. Gavin was running the 200 M, and I thought I'd get a picture or two. So I staked out a spot around the track, ready to snap a great picture of him on his last leg towards the finish line. Picture me with my camera ready, (turned on - check, no finger in the view finder - check, set for outdoor lighting - check), getting jostled from kids and parents on all sides. Just as I'm ready to snap the perfect shot of Gavin, this other kids zooms by. And the moment is gone.
