Does this mean he'll be a giant?

Gavin went shoe shopping this evening with his dad and they came home with a pair of size 9 men's shoes. He's 11 years old! Doesn't that seem like a ginormous shoe for a little guy? Or am I just refusing to admit that my boy is starting to grow up and has the potential to be tall?

I understand! My oldest is a new 12, wears I think a 9 or a 9 1/2 and is almost as tall as me! Yikes. At least they'll be able to get stuff off the top shelves for us!

Just for a reference, I (Louie) wear 9 1/2 now, so, yes, that's pretty big for an 11 year old. Then again, when you are an 11 year old boy there is no bigger status symbol then large size shoes, so he's probably just a 7 and claiming he needs them that big because he'll 'grow into them'.
