The tune-up that wasn't

The brake light has been blinking on and off in my van for the last week or two. Since it's winter and the roads are icy, I figured I'd take her in for a check-up. So I arranged for a friend to follow me down to the shop and then give me a lift home. I went in to the shop to turn in my keys and explain what I needed. And after just a few seconds, Barry said "it sounds like you need brake fluid. If you don't mind waiting I can check and take care of that right now." Low and behold, a little brake fluid and she's fine. DUH! Totally should have known that and checked for it myself. Barry didn't even let me pay for the brake fluid (he's earning my repeat business, again!). On the one hand I'm grateful that my van has been performing like a dream and I'm not adding copious amounts of brake fluid. On the other hand, I totally hate looking like a stupid female.

Better a safe stupid female than a flamingo. (Thought I was going to say dead dumb female or something like it, huh?)

Hey you may not know a lot about car brakes but you sure know how to buy shoes.
